Lessons with Margaret
Riding and horsmanship lessons are available.
There are many horse befaviours, including floating and handling problems, faced by riders and owners that can usually be solved; often surprisingly quickly.
Margaret's clients find she has a focus on rider position, the welfare of the horse, and building confidence and sensitivity in the rider, on and off the horse. Ground manners are an important aspect to the riding horse and Margaret has a lot of success in helping riders gain confidence around horses.
Most visitors to the stud comment on how friendly our horses are, no matter what their age. It is typical behaviour for our horses to be relaxed and confident around us and our visitors.
With her background in TAFE teaching and Life Coaching, Margaret is able to help most riders face any fears they may have and improve their motivation and focus in relation to riding and handling their horse. It is not unusual to discuss parenting problems, relationship issues and all sorts of challenges we face in life when having a lesson!
Margaret believes a lot of our own personal issues are carried through into our riding and by dealing with the 'personal stuff' we can make real improvement in our riding technique and horse handling.
There are currently some lesson times available on weekends and certain weekdays.
We fit lessons around competitions so weekends are sometimes not available. Preference is given to regular clients who have weekly lessons.
We have just a couple of horses available for riders who do not have their own horse for lessons. Both horses are well trained and sensitive to the aids.
Prince - the Perfect Pony (aka Dallu Royal Pageant), is 12.1 hh and schooled to Elementary level dressage. He is a willing though not particularly talented jumper! Being very patient and kind, Prince is ideal for beginner riders yet he is also very well schooled and if the rider is able to 'push the right buttons' Prince will perform the most beautiful dressage. His natural talent is collection yet he has a most impressive extended trot!
Every child (and adult) that meets Prince falls in love with his wonderfully generous and kind nature. He truly is the most gorgous horse and we treasure him.
Bella - the Beautiful (aka Luba Paciencia) has just returned to work under saddle from several years as a brood mare. She is very sensitive to the leg and teaches riders that every move they make really does make a difference to the horse. At 15.3hh Bella is a good size for most adult and teenage riders.
Bella is also a very experienced vaulting horse and this is useful for riders needing to develop confidence and/or balance and an independent seat.
